The others must be jealous…

Frida is sleeping in her pram in the shade under the japanese cherry tree, and I just went to have a look at this tiny miracle.

Giant poppy

The first poppy this year. All the others look like it’ll be a while for them yet, and this one is just standing there in the middle, flaunting it’s beauty.

Before I join it outside, I just have a short note on the house. Now that the colour is dry, it’s much easier to get the right colour impression. And you know what; I think I love it. For a while, we were discussing whether it was just slightly to dark, but the warmth and depth of it, and the way it lights up our garden is just spot on. Doesn’t this look idyllic?

The new colour

And now if you’ll excuse me – I have to get out into my garden!  😉

The house is BEAUTIFUL! I would not have thought of that color myself and it’s so gorgeous in the light. A perfect backdrop! How will you ever stay inside again?

    Mads – ;o)

sarah – Thank you so much! How will we ever stay inside again? I have no idea – I have been spending a lot of time in the garden today, and I’m really enjoying it!

    Hi Astrid,
Just letting you know that I am reading your blog recently. I found you through the OttobreEnglish group. I love making clothes for my boy, using the Dutch version of the mag. I’ve been to Denmark twice, cycled through Jutland and to Mon, from the north of Holland. We probably do that again when Pelle (our boy) is a little older. I love the color of your house and the view of the garden, with all the purples.
    Greeting, Ria

Your house looks amazing. So charming and yes, idyllic. I have to tell you, reading your blog I feel like I’ve found the Danish counterparts to my husband and me! I reorganized my sewing, etc cabinet and came across some fabric that I’d forgotten about and am definitely going to try my hand at some new things!

Ria – thank you so much for letting me know – it’s wonderful to know who is actually reading my blog. Ottobre has so many cool designs for boys, but, but… I don’t have any boys to sew for – everybody is having girls in my family… I come from Jutland (great place for a cycling trip) and I spent my summer vacation in Møn 4 years ago – the island is really beautiful! My brother lives in Amsterdam and his wife is Dutch, so I guess we have a bit of geography in common! 😉 Thanks again!

Sarah – your comment is so sweet! Thank you for your compliment on the house – and on my blog as well! Looking forward to seeing in your blog what you will be making! 🙂
