About me
My name is Astrid, I’m 35 years old, Danish, living with my boyfriend Mads and our two wonderful girls Ronja and Frida (ages 6 years and 3 years, respectively) just south of Køge, Denmark in a little town called Herfølge.
This blog is about all the things that fill my life and my heart. My family, friends, sewing, garden (though I must admit, I’m not much of a gardener – mostly a garden-enjoyer), new boat, and our house.
We own a house from 1912, which we have been renovating ourselves during the last 6 years - and that job isn’t done yet. We recently finished the kitchen and the combined bedroom/sewing space. Until recently, I had to move the sewing machine, fabric, and everything else back and forth every time I want to sew, so I love to have a dedicated space for all that. Also, it attracts the girls in the most brilliant way – when I sew, they like to come and sit next to me, “sorting” stuff in little boxes. We have a wonderful garden, that I like to share with you guys – the garden is also one of our unfinished projects, but the flowers and plants that grow in it are not.
I love sewing children’s clothes, for which I use mostly the patterns from Ottobre Design (you can read a bit more about that here) and Onion – along with lots and lots of tutorials from other generous bloggers out there. This blog has come to be very much about sewing, mainly because it’s just come to be a very important part of who I am, and what I do.
Running has a growing importance in both of our lives. Mads and I each run two or three times a week when we have the time for it. Less when we’re renovating.
Frida, our youngest daughter was born with a cleft palate. This means that she had surgery when she was 1½ year old, and a few other things have been different for Frida than for other kids. Now we pay regular visits to a speech therapist to help Frida with her speech, but also to work out whether she will need surgery again.
Besides this, I just write about what’s going on in all of our lives – big and small!
I love to have feedback so that I know who you are, and what you like – or dislike - about my blog, so please, leave me a comment or use the contact form if you feel like it – it will be greatly appreciated!
Hope you’ll enjoy!
Astrid
