About me
My name is Astrid, I’m 34 years old, Danish, living with my boyfriend Mads and our two wonderful girls Ronja and Frida (ages 5 years and 2 years, respectively) just south of Køge, Denmark in a little town called Herfølge.
This blog is about all the things that fill my life and my heart. My family, friends, sewing, garden (though I must admit, I’m not much of a gardener – mostly a garden-enjoyer), and our house.
We own a house from 1912, which we have been renovating ourselves during the last 5 years - and that job isn’t done yet – right now, we’re working on the kitchen, which means less sewing. We have a wonderful garden, that I like to share with you guys – the garden is also one of our unfinished projects, but the flowers and plants that grow in it are not.
I love sewing children’s clothes, for which I use mostly the patterns from Ottobre Design (you can read a bit more about that here) and Onion. This blog has come to be very much about sewing, mainly because it’s just come to be a very important part of who I am, and what I do.
Running has a growing importance in both of our lives. Mads and I each run three times a week when we have the time for it. Less when we’re renovating.
Frida, our youngest daughter was born with a cleft palate. This means that she had surgery when she was 1½ year old, and a few other things have been different for Frida than for other kids. Now we pay regular visits to a speech therapist to help Frida with her speech, but also to work out whether she will need surgery again.
Besides this, I just write about what’s going on in all of our lives – big and small!
I love to have feedback so that I know who you are, and what you like – or dislike - about my blog, so please, leave me a comment or send me an email (astrid(a)thusgaard.com) if you feel like it – it will be greatly appreciated!
Hope you’ll enjoy!
Astrid
